OwnCloud supports the open protocols CalDAV and CardDAV to share calendar and contact data between devices and applications. You can sync Thunderbird with your OwnCloud contacts and dates using the following Add-ons:
- SOGo Connector (address book)
- Lightning (calendar)
1. Setup
The following URLs are used:
- OwnCloud server: https://www.example.org/owncloud
- CalDAV service: https://www.example.org/owncloud/remote.php/caldav
- CardDAV service: https://www.example.org/owncloud/remote.php/carddav
2. Download
Install Lightning using Thunderbird's Add-ons-Manager. Download the SOGo Connector. Then open Thunderbird's Add-ons-Manager and install SOGo Connector using Install Add-on from file or similar.
3. Address Book
Open Thunderbird's address book and go to to file\new\remote address book. As URL you need the correct CardDAV link, which you find in the web interface of OwnCloud, e.g.: https://www.example.org/owncloud/remote.php/carddav/addressbooks/christof/contacts/
4. Calendar
Open Thunderbird's calendar aka Lightning and go to file\new\calendar. Choose the options network and CalDAV. As URL you need the correct CalDAV link, which you find in the web interface of OwnCloud, e.g.: https://www.example.org/owncloud/remote.php/caldav/calendars/christof/private
